New Brody Dean
ECU names dean for Brody School of Medicine
ECU has named a new dean for the Brody School of Medicine and senior associate vice chancellor for medical affairs for the Division of Health Sciences. The appointment of Dr. Mark Stacy was approved by the ECU board of trustees during a special called meeting June 27.

Partnership to address health impacts of storms

A new collaboration between the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University, Vidant Health and Legal Aid of North Carolina aims to address the long-term health impacts of devastating storms like Hurricane Matthew on communities in the East.

ECU hosts summer camps for kids with chronic diseases
In June, the Brody School of Medicine is hosting summer campus on the banks of the Neuse River for approximately 75 children with chronic diseases.

Ten ECU graduate students will spend the next year making health care more accessible to populations that are often overlooked. The students — five from the Brody School of Medicine and five from the School of Dental Medicine — have been named North Carolina Albert Schweitzer Fellows.
