ADMITTED STUDENT CHECKLIST FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS
Now that you have been admitted, there are several important steps for enrollment that must be completed in the checklist below:
Once You're Accepted
❏ Set up your Pirate ID and e-mail -As an incoming East Carolina student, you will have access to a variety of helpful technology resources. You will receive and email containing your Pirate ID, ECU ID, e-mail address, and instructions on how to create your secure passphrase approximately two weeks following your initial acceptance letter.

❏ Schedule a campus visit - If you have not already done so, we highly encourage you to join us for a campus visit. This is a great way to see first-hand what ECU has to offer. You can arrange a campus tour and information session through the admissions office, or plan to attend one of our Open House programs.
❏ Apply for financial aid- Make sure to complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form as soon as possible. This will determine your eligibility for grants, loans, work-study, and other financial aid programs. Financial Aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage you to complete your FAFSA by February 15th, or as soon as possible thereafter.
Download and submit your completed FAFSA form, and use ECU's FAFSA code: 002923.
Don't Wait, Secure Your Spot
❏ Notify us of your intention to enroll -You must submit the $100 Enrollment Verification/Tuition Deposit to reserve a spot for yourself in the upcoming class.
Once you have set up your Pirate ID and ECU e-mail, secure your enrollment at East Carolina by completing the instructions below, and pay the nonrefundable $100 enrollment deposit.
- Use the Pirate ID you just created to log in to ECU OneStop.
- Select the “Tools” tab, and click the “Tuition Statements, 1098-T Statements & Payments” link.
- In the new window, select the “eDeposits” tab, choose the deposit term, and click “Select”.
- Choose “Enrollment Deposit”, click “Select”, and then “Continue”.
- Choose your desired payment method, and click “Select”.
- Follow the steps on the screen to enter and submit your payment information.
Note: You will receive a payment confirmation by e-mail.

- Spring Semester: December 19, 2014
- Summer Semester: May 11, 2015
- Fall Semester: June 12, 2015
❏ Submit your campus housing preference - If you choose to live and dine on campus, please submit your housing and dining contract as soon as possible once it becomes available online.

❏ Register for orientation - Transfer Orientation is for students admitted as a transfer student. This will help you get started on the right foot as you begin at East Carolina by giving you tools for academic success, helping you feel comfortable in the college environment, and assisting you through the class registration process. Students with less than 30 transferable hours at the time of admission must attend the Freshman Orientation. Students with more than 30 transferable hours may attend transfer orientation or complete an online orientation module.

Before You Arrive
❏ Submit your final official transcripts - Enrolling students must submit their final official transcripts from all institutions attended (including graduation date) before the start of the upcoming academic year.
Send transcripts to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, 106 Whichard Building, Mail Stop 517, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC 27858-4353.
❏ Complete your medical report - The student Report of Medical History form must be returned complete with immunization records to Student Health Services. You must be cleared as "health compliant" prior to actual attendance.

❏ Social security number verification - The Internal Revenue Service requires East Carolina University to verify social security numbers (SSN) annually for accurate tax reporting on 1098-T forms. Having an accurate SSN on tax forms supports the tax deduction that a student or family may claim for qualified educational expenses on both federal and state income tax returns. Failure to provide ECU with a SSN may result in the student being fined in accordance with Internal Revenue Code Section 6723.
