Online Students

ECU offers classes by a variety of delivery methods. Of course we offer traditional face-to-face classes on our main campus, but we also offer face-to-face classes on satellite campuses through various partnerships, as well as online classes.

ECU offers two types of online classes: campus-based online classes and distance education online classes.

Campus-based online classes (indicated by a campus code of 008) are taught through the main campus, but offered online, and are available to any student (providing that he/she meets the prerequisites). All of the regular student fees are associated with these classes.

Distance Education online classes (indicated by a campus code of 650 and a course section number in the 600s) are taught through the Distance Education (DE) campus. Registration for these courses is restricted to Distance Education students. If space is available a month before classes begin, restrictions may be lifted allowing campus students to register for these sections (there are some exceptions. Generally the College of Business and the College of Allied Health do not lift these restrictions).
