Directions to SERSAS Reception, Friday, 22 March:

Tucker is a small town right outside of the perimeter highway, in the northeast east quadrant of metro Atlanta, not far from Decatur, Ga. So, if you're driving to SERSAS, the best way to reach the reception in Tucker is via I-285 East, the perimeter highway.

Drivers from north or south might be taking I-75 or I-85; from the south, also, I-675; from the east or west, I-20. All of those highways intersect with I-285. Check your road map & see where your highway into town intersects most closely with 285's northeast section. Then, get onto I-285 east.

Take I-285 to the LaVista exit. On the exit ramp, you'll see a small sign with an arrow indicating which way to turn toward Tucker. Turn onto LaVista going toward Tucker and away from the big clump of malls. Drive a few miles. Take a left onto Fellowship Rd., aka Chamblee- Tucker Rd. You'll see a road sign for Fellowship hanging over LaVista, a turn lane, a couple gas stations at the intersection, and Tucker H.S. a bit up ahead. Okay, you take the left onto Fellowship, aka Chamblee-Tucker Rd. Go down Chamblee-Tucker a few blocks. Turn right onto North Park Dr.,P> If you get muddled, call 770-270-9312.

If you're not up for driving to Tucker, we'll pick you up at the Kensington MARTA station. Go to the nearest subway station to your hotel or house. Look at the subway map. It'll show you how to get onto the east line. Take the east line to Kensington Station. IF YOU'RE GOING TO USE THE SUBWAY & PICK-UP, YOU MUST CALL OR E-MAIL DR. ALI BY THURSDAY, MARCH 21, TO WORK OUT DETAILS. We don't want you standing around at a MARTA station for more than a couple minutes! Dr. Ali's phone numbers are 404-463-9200, 770-413-5597, or 404-651-2250. His e-mail address is HISMHA@langate.gsu.edu. If you have neither car nor ability to use MARTA comfortably, please call Dr. Ali to arrange for pick-up at your hotel. Finally, if you're driving in over surface roads, not highways, please call Chris at 770-270-9312 or e-mail me at calutz@bellsouth.net to get particular directions for maneuvering the metro area. Hope to see you on Friday!
