Courses Offered: At the introductory level, two courses engage students in basic visual problem solving and increased technical proficiency. After acceptance into the concentration is achieved, subsequent to a rigorous portfolio review, advanced courses are offered in graphic design, illustration, photography/image design, typography, interaction design, and environmental design which build sound methodologies and technical competencies.

Area Philosophy: To develop cognitive skills which allow students to produce innovative solutions to a variety of visual problems. To develop practical skills, techniques, and methodology which allow graduates to be very competitive in the job market.
