Faculty:Michael Ehlbeck, Area CoordinatorCourses Offered:
Beginning courses are offered in Printmaking Survey, with hands on experiences employing relief and intaglio printmaking processes. The course requirements for the survey course are generally the same for each section taught.
Advanced courses are offered in lithography (Art 3600, Art 3610), intaglio (Art 2600, Art 2610), silkscreen, relief, and contemporary techniques.
Area Philosophy: Printmaking affords students a variety of vehicles for self-expression. By allowing advanced students to select a printing matrix that suits their individual temperament and personality, the development of the image becomes personal. The students are involved in creating images employing processes, nothing more.
