WeavingCourses Offered: After an introductory survey course, students concentrating in textiles make up the major from a combination of courses in both fabric design and weaving. Course work is a balance of experiences in each field. Advanced studios in surface design include batik, photo-silkscreen, and others. Advanced studios in weaving may include multi-harness structures, dye processes, and other advanced techniques.
Area Philosophy: Students are encouraged to develop a personal direction through exploration of process. The area expects a level of competence to enable students to pursue personal goals.
