Our Mission

The primary mission of Academic Support and Enrichment Services which is a unit of the Division of Academic Affairs, is to maximize the academic success, personal and professional development and graduation of medical and health professions students while emphasizing service to minority and disadvantaged students. To achieve this mission the staff of ASES recruits and supports all pre-health students at the undergraduate level and provides group and individual academic counseling for medical and health sciences students. ASES faculty members serve as change agents and as resources regarding multiculturalism and diversity. The mission is focused on supporting the missions of East Carolina University, the Division of Health Sciences, and the Brody School of Medicine.

Our Vision

The Academic Support and Enrichment Services of the Brody School of Medicine is strongly committed to protecting and serving a diverse student population. Our administration is dedicated to encouraging all students to maximize their potential in all areas of the curriculum and personal development. It is essential that we create an environment that respects the individual, encourages leadership, fosters integrity and inspires each student to realize his/her full potential. The ASES is committed to working collectively with the faculty and administration to make sure that every student is valued, every student is supported, and that every student grows in capacity to lead and serve.
