Programs

The academic enrichment programs of ASEC have gained an excellent reputation for providing students with an exciting and challenging educational experience as well as an environment in which they can sample the academic, social, and recreational aspects of a medical education.

ASEC also understands the importance of family, spouses and/or significant others to our students and the impact of families on students’ academic achievement.

Online Medical College Admission Test
(MCAT) Review Course

The Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) is designed to assess students' mastery of basic concepts in biology, chemistry, and physics, as well as critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and writing skills. The Online MCAT Review Course at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University is designed to hone those skills necessary for maximal performance on the MCAT.

Summer Program for Future Doctors (SPFD)

ASEC, in affiliation with BSOM, sponsors an intensive, challenging educational summer program that allows participants to experience the pedagogical style and demands of the medical school curriculum. For program information click here.

Health Careers Investigation and Immersion (HCII)

HCII is a learning program designed for high school students at the academic honors level. By providing early support to students interested in a medical career, we hope to empower selected high school juniors to venture beyond the traditional classroom setting and explore their college options.

Brody's Better Half

Brody's Better Half provides an outlet where spouses/significant others may share feelings, concerns, and advice. These shared experiences help significant others cope with the pressures, demands, and rewards of medical school.
