East Carolina University is looking for a Feature Twirler to join the ECU Marching Pirates beginning fall of 2014. Our group performs in front of more than 50,000 fans at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium and other selected events.

The qualified candidate will be an experienced twirler capable of personal choreography, including twirling multiple batons as well as fire. The candidate must be independent, dedicated, and embody the role of representative of the university. The candidate must be flexible to change and adjust to most any situation. It is preferred that the candidate has experience with field/marching band performing.

Those interested in the position of ECU Feature Twirler should send a cover letter, résumé, and DVD of choreography. This DVD should include contrasting choreography for two songs, displaying technique and creativity.

Video application, cover letter, and résumé will be due by January 15, 2013. Please mail to:

Finalists will be selected from those applicants and informed by January 24, 2014. Final auditions for invited candidates will take place on campus at ECU on March 22, 2014.
