Sixth Annual ECU Marching Pirates Family Day Dear Marching Pirates Parents, The 2007 East Carolina University football season is quickly approaching and the ECU Marching Pirates will soon begin band camp! We will have our first performance on Saturday, September 1 in Blacksburg, Virginia when ECU visits Virginia Tech for an nationally-televised ESPN game. As a parent of a university band member you are aware of the time, energy and dedication these students commit to this program. Those of us associated with ECU Bands are also very aware of your dedication and commitment that has allowed your children to participate in a program such as this. In appreciation of your efforts and to provide you an opportunity to see these students in action, I would like to invite you to our sixth annual ECU Marching Pirates Family Day on September 15. Kick-off of the ECU-Southern Mississippi game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. We will have an open rehearsal at 2:00 p.m., followed by dinner at 3:30 p.m. on College Hill Field for all members of the ECU Marching Pirates and their families. We will then parade to the stadium at 5:00 for the 6:00 p.m. kick-off. Tickets for the game are available through the ECU Athletic Ticket Office at (252) 328-4500, or through their website at www.ecupirates.com. Dinner is on us! Just let us know by Tuesday, September 11 if you’d like to attend, and we’ll make sure there is plenty for everyone. You may return the attached form to the band office, or e-mail the information to me at knightenc@ecu.edu. Since we are ordering meals in advance, it would help us to know the exact number of people you’ll be bringing. If that number changes by Tuesday, September 11 please let us know so we can change the order. I hope you’ll allow us to welcome you into our ECU Marching Pirates family at our first home game. We look forward to meeting you! Sincerely,
Dr. Christopher Knighten
