Alex Smith
Drumline Assistant
Alex Smith is
a musician and student at East Carolina University. As the
current Marching Pirates Drumline Assistant, Alex has also
worked with several marching ensembles across North Carolina
such as
Green
Hope and
Cape
Fear high schools. In 2005 and 2006 Alex participated in
DCI with the
Crossmen
Drum and Bugle Corps playing the tenor drums. Aside from
his experience as a marching performer/instructor, Alex has
also taken an interest in world music and ethnomusicology.
Having lived in Brazil for a year, he intends to continue
his studies in this area upon graduation in December.
