David Richmond

Dave Richmond is a native of Durham and spent his teenage years in Williamston. He graduated from Williamston High School in 1991, and ECU in 1995. He earned a B.S. in Political Science. He is married to Kirsten Richmond and they have his sons, Tyler and Alexander. Dave worked at ECU's college music station, 91.3 WZMB. His radio journey began at Mix 94.3 WGPM and The Talk FM WCZI in Greenville in 1996. He then came to Magic 95.9 for the first time in 1999. He moved to Elizabeth City and went to work at Kiss 97 FM. He later worked at 95.3 The Rock WOBR-FM in Nags Head back in 2000. Dave then came back home to Magic for the second tour of duty back in May 2001. Dave has worked at The Hot FM in 2003 and then went to 98.5 The Big Dawg WDWG-FM and Jammin 99 WZAX-FM in 2007. Dave came back home to Magic in April 2011 and has never looked back. The third time really is the charm! Over the years, Dave has enjoyed traveling and going around the world to do mission trips. He went to Germany six months after the Berlin Wall came down.

After September 11, Dave volunteered with the NC Baptist Men. He cleaned apartments near Ground Zero at the Gateway Plaza. This was one of the most rewarding experiences he has ever had. In 2009, he went to Turkey and painted the outside of a church on a mission trip with his church, Forest Hills Baptist in Wilson. In May 2012 , Dave went with a group of nurses to Benin in the western part of Africa. In addition of travel, Dave also likes sports, movies, and music of course. How could we work at the music lover's station if he did not? Also, Dave welcomed a baby girl named Spotty to his life on April 30, 2012. Spotty is a lab dalmation mix. He rescued her and is happy to have her in his family! She has provided a lot of energy and youth to his place! Enjoy your mid-day with Dave weekdays 10am-2pm at Magic 95.9. He also works at News Radio 680 WPTF and Talk Radio 850 WPTK in Raleigh. He is proud to be this year’s "Voice of the ECU Marching Pirates!"
