East Carolina University's Psychophysiology Lab and Biofeedback Clinic is designed to offer opportunities for developing skills in using physiological measuring and monitoring equipment. An array of practical applications such as clinical services, research, training for optimal performance, marketing strategies using biofeedback and game development are being developed in the lab. Our lab provides a virtual classroom experience where students interact with professors, laboratory assistants, clinicians, and students from around the world. While the Biofeedback Certificate is only available to graduate students, we offer graduate and undergraduate credit for successful completion of self paced modules with audio-visual lectures from Carmen V. Russoniello, Ph.D., TRS/CTRS, LPC. Dr. Russoniello is a Fellow of the Biofeedback Institute of America in both General and EEG Biofeedback and he brings over 20 years of clinical experience and an extensive research background involving biofeedback, the reduction of stress, childhood obesity, and posttraumatic stress disorder to a web based class room.
For more information about the casual video games (CVGs) studies that have been conducted and their impact in reducing depression contact Dr. Russoniello. For information surrounding the effects of CVGs in reducing anxiety please contact Matthew Fish, MS.
