MESSAGE FROM THE DEAN
Welcome to the web site of the Admissions Office at The Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. We hope you will find it helpful, and we appreciate your interest in our program. For over 20 years the School of Medicine has met the challenge given to us by the State of North Carolina: to provide medical care to the Eastern Region of the State, to educate the people of North Carolina (particularly those who come from disadvantaged backgrounds or groups which are under-represented in medicine), and to train physicians to care for the citizens of the State. This mission parallels the national mandate for the training of more generalist physicians, and our efforts have been acknowledged through recognition by numerous professional associations, inclusion in various national rankings, and the awarding of initiative grants. Every year our Admissions Committee reviews and evaluates hundreds of applicants from North Carolina to select our entering class of 72. If you have a desire to serve the people of North Carolina as a physician, we urge you to apply.
