Policy Statement 15: Buildings/Equipment Warranty Period

Warranty Period

As a condition of the construction contract, buildings and equipment will normally have twelve-month warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. The warranty period begins on the date of acceptance of the facility.

Faulty Material or Workmanship

Any facility or equipment not functioning properly shall be reported by the occupants to the Facilities Service Center via the work order system.

Item Not Covered by Warranty

The warranty does not cover such circumstances as:

• Unauthorized revisions or alterations to the design of the facility

• Moving fixed equipment to a location not specified in the design drawings

• Routine maintenance

• Clearing drains

• Replacing light bulbs

• Cleaning and replacement due to use
