Research and Personal Interests:
My research area relates to integrated care and medical family therapy to better understand the health outcomes for individuals, couples, and families when they are treated by medical and mental health providers simultaneously and through a biopsychosocial lens. In particular, I am interested in the physical, emotional, and relational health of military and veteran couples and families, health disparities and health outcomes with particular attention for underserved populations, childhood obesity, and compassion fatigue versus burnout among medical and mental health providers.

Something interesting about me:
My husband’s name and my son’s name are on the top of my curriculum vita before any of my academic accomplishments, because above all else they are the most important in my life.
My favorite things are to travel with my family, see family in Iowa including my Godchildren (my husband and I share ten Godchildren) and going to waterparks.
