Want to go farther with your undergraduate degree?

Obtaining an advanced degree in birth through kindergarten education allows you to become a positive force in the lives of young children and their families. With a master’s degree, you have an opportunity to specialize in an area of study and gain experience in a leadership role as an educator. At East Carolina University, the Birth through Kindergarten (BK) program is in the Department of Child Development and Family Relations in the College of Human Ecology (CHE).
Successful completion of the MAEd degree in BK leads to advanced licensure in Birth through Kindergarten. At ECU, getting your master’s degree in BK will help to prepare you for leadership roles in early childhood education such as:

        • Master teacher
        • Consultant positions in early childhood at the local, regional and state levels
        • Program coordinator
        • Supervisor
        • Staff development trainer
        • Community College Instructor

The program is available completely online for all North Carolina residents, providing you with the flexibility to work from home, while accommodating to your busy schedule.
