Dennis G. Honeycutt is a Teaching Instructor in the Department of Criminal Justice in the College of Human Ecology at East Carolina University and has been doing so since 2005.  He holds MPA (Public Administration) from East Carolina University and a B.S. also from East Carolina University (Criminal Justice).  His areas of study include forensic science, criminal investigation, homicide investigation, and ethics in law enforcement.  Prior to instructing at East Carolina University, he was employed by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation as Special Agent in Charge and conducted crime scene investigations for over twenty-five years.
