What was your major?
Why did you choose ECU?
It was a State School and the first University I got accepted to.
Why did you choose your major?
I had previously worked in Retail and thought this would be away to move up on the Corporate end of the Retail Industry.
What would you tell potential students who are considering your major?
Its not as easy as you think.
Do you have a professor that you look back on fondly? Yes, Dr. Chen and Dr. Woodard
What is your best ECU memory? Meeting an amazing group of friends that were very supportive during the college experience.
Tell us about your current job and any positions that lead you to where you are now.
I am the Regional Visual Merchandising Manager for the Mid-Atlantic-Southeast & Northeast Regions for J.Crew. Past positions at J.Crew, Tommy Hilfiger and gap have lead me to wear I am today.
What motivates you in your job, and how does your education at ECU relate to that?
The people I work with motivate me.
What lessons did you learn at ECU that you think helped to shape your work or yourself?
That the Retail Industry can be a place to harbor a long term career.
What is the best part of your job?
Travel, Training, Development of others.
Any words of wisdom to current students at ECU or particularly those in the College of Human Ecology (or your major)?
Its important to have the hands on experience, you will start at the bottom but here isa lot of room for growth if you put yourself out there.
