Nicole Dwyer graduated ECU in 2007 with a degree in Interior Design. Since graduating, the tools she learned from her major have helped her gain opportunities and aspirations she never thought she’d have. Dwyer said, “When I graduated I worked in the Kitchen and Bath Industry [for] designing and sales, then started freelance design work for multiple companies in the Charlotte area doing 3D modeling and AutoCAD work.” Her employers were impressed with her experience in the technology she learned as a student. She attributes this and her communication skills among other tools, to her growing career.
“Since then I have recently have taken a position with VStudios 3D Visualization in Cordoba, Argentina,” she said. “I would like to relocate to a city (LA) that will allow me to grow the business and still continue to build relationships with the amazing companies we work with.”
As for her experience at ECU, she compared the Interior Design program to “a fine tuned machine.” She said, “The course work and the professors are at the top of the line and [they do] a great job of teaching us skills that get us ready for working with other designers and clients in the real world.”
