Jeff Bass graduated with a degree in Hospitality Management in 1998. Shortly after graduation Jeff found a job at Benvenue Country Club in Rocky Mount, NC as the Club House Manager. Within a short period of time, he was named as the Interim General Manager. While at Benvenue, Jeff was responsible for all food and beverage as well as special functions. In March of 2000, Jeff took a position with his current employer MBM (food distributors), after recruitment from MBM shareholders.
Since 2000, Jeff has worked with numerous restaurant chains and has established accounts with chains such as Chick-fil-A. He is currently the Director of Supply Chain Services in charge of Chick-fil-A, McAlister’s and Boston Market at MBM. In his current position, he manages purchasing, logistics, and forecasting and occasionally travels in order to work with the various accounts.
He credits ECU and the Hospitality Management program for helping prepare him for his professional endeavors. “The Hospitality Management Program at ECU prepared me for every aspect of my career in Foodservice as well as the Distribution business. Since I have worked on the restaurant side of this business, I can easily relate with restaurants and help resolve their issues when it comes to distribution while at the same time dealing with the logistics of food service distribution. Purchasing, logistics and forecasting are a huge part of my daily routine at MBM. Communication is the key to a good working relationship with customers as well as fellow workers and ECU prepared me well for all aspects of this career.”
