Welcome and Overview
The college is committed to offering every student the opportunity to experience living and studying abroad. So, whether you are an East Carolina University (ECU) student or faculty member who is looking to spend a summer, semester, or year abroad, or you are an international student or faculty member who is looking to study at ECU, there is something in the links above that will be of interest to you.
The College of Human Ecology (CHE) has an International Education Committee (IEC) comprised of experienced faculty who are available to advise you on all aspects of the international experience.

Mission Statement
The College of Human Ecology International Education Committee (IEC) is committed to the goal of providing educational and scholarship opportunities in international settings. The IEC will develop resources to fulfill this goal for our students and faculty, working in conjunction with the ECU Office of International Affairs to meet the international goals and initiatives of the university.

Summer Study Abroad
In an effort to achieve our goal of internationalization of the College, students are encouraged to participate in summer study abroad programs. Departments within the College of Human Ecology design study aboard experiences that expose students to different cultures around the world. These programs will offer life changing experiences that will enhance students’ personal and professional development and also prepare them to become more culturally aware and competent.
