The BS in Hospitality Management has been offered on the ECU campus since 1988. In cooperation with the community college system, a degree completion program in Hospitality Management, which includes a minor in Business Administration, will be offered in a distance education format. The first semester of courses as listed in the 4 year plan would be offered through the WWW beginning in the fall semester, 2004 with courses added each semester following the 4 year plan. The projected number of students would be 20 with a target audience of hotel and restaurant employees in the Outer Banks, Crystal Coast, and Wilmington coast areas. This will be an ongoing program and be delivered in WWW and interactive television formats.
The BS in Hospitality Management requires a minimum of 126 hours of undergraduate credit which includes a minor in Business Administration. Students are prepared for assistant manager positions in the hotel and restaurant industries upon completion of the program.
