Career Opportunities in Hospitality Management
Recent expansion of the hotel, restaurant, and tourism industries has produced tremendous management opportunities for well-qualified men and women, and employment demand reports indicate that the number of jobs in the hospitality management field will continue to increase. Starting salaries are competitive, with better paying jobs going to graduates who have both academic preparation and professional experience.

Career opportunities are available in a wide range of operations, from small business to large corporations. Positions include:

  • Management trainees
  • Assistant hotel managers
  • Restaurant or club managers
  • Food and beverage managers
  • Institutional sales personnel
  • Marking directors
With experience, the potential for advancement to middle- and upper-level management positions is excellent. Recent graduates of the hospitality management program at ECU have been employed with firms such as Hyatt, Marriott, and Hilton hotels; restaurants; and ARAMARK food services.
