 Bachelor of Science in Merchandising Apparel Concentration
   

Merchandising Apparel covers most aspects of the clothing and apparel industry. The study of merchandising apparel covers elements that range from the fashion designer, manufacturer, distributor, marketing, and end retail vendor. Students in our program have a vast range of experiences that may include study abroad trips, trips to companies and apparel markets, creating visual displays for local retailers, and interacting with industry professionals, just to name a few. Alumni of our program have worked with such notable companies as: Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, H&M, Burberry, Lilly Pulitzer, Gap, JCrew, Kate Spade, Valentino NY, Crate and Barrel, Urban Outfitters and Ann Taylor.   *Declare Major after Sophomore Year
*Apply for Graduation and Schedule a Senior Summary at the Student Services Center after the   completion of 85 hours.
^Declare MRCH majors only.
*MATH, all MRCH and all Business Administration courses must be completed with a "C" or higher.
   
 
   
  The Bachelor of Science in Merchandising Apparel concentration is taught in a traditional face to face environment.
   
 
Requirements to Declare:
  You should declare that you want to major in merchandising apparel after you have completed your sophomore year and meet teh following criteria:
  • Students must have a cumulative 2.5 grade point average
  • complete a minimum of 12 semester hours at ECU including MRCH 2999 and MATH 1065.

Please contact your academic advisor to officially declare your major.

 

 

  Other Requirements:
 
  • The bachelor’s degree in merchandising requires a minor in business administration. It is recommended that the courses required for the business administration minor be taken in the order as listed.
  • Internships are optional, but encouraged.
  • Throughout the program, students must make a C or better in all MRCH/IDSN major courses and business administration minor courses.
