Interior Design & Merchandising
Bachelor of Science in Merchandising Interiors Concentration
|
Merchandising with an Interiors concentration covers most aspects of the home interiors and furnishing industry from home furnishing designers, to manufacturers, distributers, marketers, and retailers. Students have a vast range of experiences that may include study abroad, trips to companies and interior markets (for example: the High Point Market), creating visual displays for local retailers, and interacting with industry professionals.

Requirements to Declare: |
You should declare that you want to major in merchandising with an Interiors Concentration after you have completed your freshman year and meet the following criteria:
- Students must have a cumulative 2.5 grade point average
- complete a minimum of 12 semester hours at ECU including MRCH 2350 and MATH 1065.
Please contact your academic advisor to officially declare your major. |

| Other Requirements: |
|
- The bachelor’s degree in merchandising requires a minor among the follow four choices: business administration, communication, hospitality management, and art. It is recommended students check with the chosen minor program for minor completion requirements and course sequence.
- Internships are required for undergraduate catalogs starting 2010-2011.
- Throughout the program, students must make a C or better in all MRCH/IDSN major courses and MATH 1065.
