| The program emphasizes both criminal justice practice and criminal justice administration. The program requires 39 semester hours (s.h.).The practice component focuses on specific methods, techniques, and skills utilized when interacting with police officers, probation and parole officers, mediators, guardians ad litem, and attorneys.The administration component focuses on the formulation and implementation of policies, laws, and management issues such as decision making, fiscal responsibility, program evaluation, and performance evaluation.Systematic issues that impact the operations of criminal justice agencies also are emphasized. | |
Admissions Candidates seeking admission into the graduate program must fulfill the general requirements of the Graduate School. These criteria include:
Applicants are required to submit a completed Graduate School Application Package, as well as a detailed resume (curriculum vitae), statement of purpose, transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities, and three letters of reference to the East Carolina University Graduate School.
