       Graduate Certificate in Security Studies

Whether you are a part-time graduate student already in the workforce or a full-time graduate student working toward a Master degree, the Graduate Certificate in Security Studies may be just right for you. The Certificate is a 15 hour non-degree program, which does not require you to already be admitted into a Masters degree program or to take the Graduate Record Exams (GRE). It is self-paced, allowing students to take as few as one course a semester, depending on their workload at the office or other commitments. All courses required for the Certificate can also be taken through Distance Education.

Core Courses:

SECS 6000 Security Studies Foundations
SECS 6155 Changing Nature of National Security

This Certificate is taught in a traditional face to face or on-line environment.

Additional Courses:

Other Graduate level courses may become available during the year which may be substituted for the above core courses. Consideration will be made on a case-by-case basis.

Other Requirements:

Upon approval by the Security Studies Program Committee, up to 6 credit hours of graduate level work from an accredited institution may be transferred to the Graduate Certificate.
