Welcome to the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics website. The study of nutrition, in basic terms, is how food affects the body. While the basic definition seems simplistic, the study of which is very scientific and complex. Our programs prepare students to work in the wide range of available career opportunities dealing with nutrition and dietetics. Former students have gone on to work in clinical settings, food industry, community based intervention agencies, sports nutrition, and nutrition education. Other alumni have gone on to coordinate nutrition programs in state and federal government, to be successful private practitioners or scientific researchers.
We currently offer an undergraduate and graduate degree, a minor in Nutrition, and an accredited Dietetics Internship. All of our programs are offered as on-campus degrees, while our graduate degree can be completed at a distance as well. The dietetic internship is a program that individuals, who already have an undergraduate degree in nutrition, may participate in to become eligible to sit for the national registration exam (dietitian license exam). Our faculty, staff, and student stay very active in numerous research activities and have received numerous accolades and awards. Please take the time to explore our site and learn more about the great opportunities we have to offer.
