Master of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics On-Line
The Master of Science degree in nutrition and dietetics provides advanced academic training for individuals seeking in-depth nutrition knowledge and for Registered Dietitians who are interested in career advancement.
Admission Standards:
Admission to the Master of Science program in the College of Human Ecology is through the ECU Graduate School. Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree, a satisfactory score on the GRE and GPA > 3.0 overall or last 60 hours > 3.0.

Equivalent to a Nutrition Minor, to include:
· NUTR 1010 - Cultural Foods
· NUTR 2105 - Nutrition
  NUTR 3104 - Advanced Vitamins and Minerals
· NUTR 3105 - Nutrition Biochemistry and Metabolism
· NUTR 3106 - Nutrition Biochemistry and Metabolism Lab
· NUTR 3311 - Life Cycle Nutrition

Directions for registering through the Continuing Studies Office

  1. Students must be admitted to the university as either an undergraduate, graduate, or non-degree student. 
  2. AFTER you have received notice of admission you can register by emailing Patricia Green.
    You must give her your complete name, social security number, and the course name, number and section. (Please note that all Distance Education Courses are section 600 or above.)
    After you are registered you will receive a registration confirmation by email.
  3. In order to access your course you must go to the email access site which you received when admitted get your email userid and password. You must have this userid and password to log-in to your blackboard course. The web address for blackboard is http://ecu.blackboard.com.
  4. Course materials are available through the bookstore. Ask for Kevin Jordan at 328-6731 if you wish the materials sent.
For registration dates and deadlines see the ECU Academic Calendar.  Some classes have limited enrollment.  Register early to avoid being closed out.  Availability of classes is contingent upon having the required minimum number of students.  The Division of Continuing Studies reserves the right to cancel classes if this requirement is not met or for other appropriate reasons.
