Photographs as data are more frequently discussed in ethnographic research than in Phenomenology. The purpose of this presentation was to discuss why photographs provide quality sources of data for phenomenological researchers, the use of historical photographs, the analysis of photographs and co-construction of meaning, the pragmatic issues related to photographs as a data source, and the ethical issues related to photographs. The presentation was illustrated with photographs used by the authors in research studies and qualitatitve coursework. |

| Presented |
Chicago |
The Association of Schools of Allied Health Professionals Conference, Chicago |
Illinois |
Presentation provided participants with an understanding of how five faculty members, representing four disciplines, have collaboratively developed and taught an interdisciplinary course in qualitative research for graduate students. Based on the need to provide graduates with the skills for doing evidence-based, inter-professional practice, the course requires students to engage in a variety of active learning strategies to gain research skills and to learn more about other professions.... |
