Course (New) - Creation/Delivery: Conventional |
2008 |
| In order to improve students reading and writing abilities, I require students read court cases rather than brief summaries of textbooks. It substantially increases students' interest in the subject matter. |

| Finding that students tend to memorize without having an understanding of the material, I allow open book examinations in JUST 3500, 3501 and 3502. |

Lecture on International Diversity through Global Academic Initiatives |
This lecture provided useful information for me to develop a comparative criminal justice / comparative law / international criminal law class in this format. This lecture, provided by Drs. Roshina Chia and Elmer Poe, was about Global Academic Initiatives, especially the positive effects of the Global Understanding Courses. The lecture discussed the positive effects of using online video conference technologies that enable students in different nations to take classes together, discuss and do collaborative writings. |
