| For merchandising professional development class MRCH 2999, service-learning was emphasized. A community practice project offers students on-site, hands-on experience in the merchandising industry. The project also serves as an outreach program for businesses in merchandising. Work hours are set aside in the course outline to assist students in completing this project. Guest speaker project required students working as a group to reach out to the community and find and arrange their own guest speakers. |

Innovations in Course Content / Presentation |
2007 |
| For MRCH 3350, designed a pre-test at the beginning of the semester to understand students' math level better and review math basics to make sure studenst are adequately prepared for the class.
During the semester, 6 quizzes were incorporated in the course to help students assess themselves before the exam and help reduce their anxiethy toward the exams.
Formed student study groups to give them needed support |

Program Assessment Projects |
2008 |
| A panel of industry experts was invited to come to MRCH4350 evaluating the semester group projects. This semester group project is the most important assignment/project for MRCH 4350 that covers most of the important topics for this class and was designed as close to the process happening in the industry as possible. For fall 07 semester, out of the 7 groups of students, only one group had a B (86%), all the other groups got A's for their projects, which gave an A for the class average (91.85%) |
