Enriching Lives. Enhancing Communities.

Welcome! The School of Social Work (SOCW) has a proud tradition of social work education and seeks to provide the highest quality professional education for all persons who are admitted. Our bachelor of social work (BSW) and master of social work (MSW) curricula reflect the profession's commitment to promoting social and economic justice, the value of and strength in diversity, and the dismantling of oppression. Our faculty creatively engages and challenges students in an educational process which prepares them for professional practice and for leadership roles in the social work profession. Students receive intensive field experience in the BSW and MSW programs. Both program offer a “person in environment” didactic philosophy, and both programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. We also offer master’s level classes that are taught off campus in various eastern North Carolina cities.

Please feel free to contact us if you need further information on our programs.
