Research and Personal Interests:
My academic research career has been founded on the philosophy that greater understanding of the way that individuals and families interact with each other and the world around them is a key catalyst for the overall improvement of the human condition. With this in mind, I plan to undertake theory-driven, multidisciplinary research that tackles prescient concerns regarding the lives of culturally diverse families and communities.

My research areas include: Kinship care, or grandparents and other relatives raising children, management and community practice, health disparities and health promotion.

Some type of quote you live by:
Coach Vince Lombardi has provided many quotes to live by:

“The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor.”

“It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.”

“A person can be as great as he/she wants to be. If you believe in yourself and have the courage, the determination, the dedication, the competitive drive, and if you are willing to sacrifice the little things in life and pay the price for the things that are worthwhile, it can be done.”

“Perfection is not attainable. But if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.”

Something interesting about yourself?
Fall is my favorite time of year. You can’t beat the cool weather and football.
