We the faculty work hard to provide the best possible social work education--one that will prepare students to be knowledgeable, competent, and ethical leaders in a challenging profession. The mission of the School of Social Work is to provide leadership for the profession of social work through teaching, research and service. The mission is founded upon an awareness of the social and economic inequities that hinder the attainment of justice in this and all societies. The school promotes its mission by instilling in students a commitment to meet and discover solutions to these inequalities. Overall, the School’s mission is achieved by preparing students to become proficient professional practitioners at the beginning and advanced practice levels, and to assume leadership roles as community members and practicing professionals.
