Admissions Requirements:
Listed below are the items you need to send us in order to be considered for admission to the MSW program. The admissions process involves the School of Social Work and the Graduate School. Prospective must fill out both:
- ECU Graduate School Application
- School of Social Work Application
Your file cannot be evaluated until all materials for both the College and the Graduate School are complete.
General Criteria for Admissions:
- An earned bachelor’s degree from an accredited undergraduate institution
- A minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale in all undergraduate work and a 3.0 for the senior year.
- A satisfactory score on either the Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or the Graduate Records Exam (GRE).
- A broad-based liberal arts foundation ( minimum of six courses in basic social and behavioral sciences)
Applicants are required to submit transcripts form all previously attended colleges and universities, three letters of reference, and a statement of interest describing their potential, interest, and motivation for pursuing a career in social work. A personal interview may be required. Enrollment is limited. Admissions are handled on a competitive basis. |
