Dr. Julius Mallette leads the Telehealth Services section of CHSC armed with a mission to explore the area of health communications.
Leveraging the communication resources at CHSC, Telehealth services promises to become a highly visible entity, not only at the University, but throughout the community in Eastern North Carolina.

Healthy Conversations
Watch for a new TV series, Healthy Conversations, to air on ECU-TV, Cox Cable channel 99, beginning Fall of 2006. This innovative program will feature knowledgeable guests, a call-in feature, and a range of topics of interest to residents of Eastern North Carolina.

Lifestyle Interventions
Initiatives in adult health education for improvement in lifestyle and health literacy, collaboration with the North Carolina Agromedicine Institute, and identifying an online toolset for health assistance are examples of upcoming development in the area of lifestyle interventions by the Telehealth Services section.

Dr. Julius Mallette
Dr. Mallette has been a gifted communicator in his career as a clinical professor and Obstetrics and Gynecology specialist. He served in a Fellowship role at the University of Maryland Medical School in the area of Maternal Fetal Medicine. His Residencies include Hubbard Hospital of Meharry Medical College, where he also served an internship, and the East Carolina School of Medicine, where he attended medical school. Dr. Mallette began his service to East Carolina University in 1986. |
