North Carolina Campus Compact has selected ECU to be the partner campus for the 2017-2018 Engaged Faculty Scholars Program. In partnership with the Office for Faculty Excellence, CLCE will offer a series of workshops to help faculty make connections between their community engagement efforts through service-learning and their public scholarship. Event details will be posted soon.

This Symposium will engage participants in discussions about ethical responsibilities of public universities, the value of public service to campuses and communities, the ethical dilemmas arising from public service, the rewards to all involved, and the ethical responsibilities. Participants will include faculty, staff, students from ECU, local community colleges and universities and their community partners.

The Symposium is a partnership between five ECU units (Office of Public Service and Community Relations, the Office of Human Research Integrity, the Faculty Senate Service Learning Committee, the Office for Faculty Excellence, and the Volunteer and Service-Learning Center) and North Carolina Campus Compact.
