What is the Green to Gold Program?

The Green to Gold Program allows soldiers on Active Duty to pursue a college degree and become an Army Officer through the ROTC Program. If selected in the G2G Program at ECU, soldiers are released from active duty to attend school on a full-time status.

Green to Gold Options Available

  • Scholarship Option
  • Two, Three, and Four-year
  • Hip Pocket (two-year)
  • Non-Scholarship Option
  • Two-year only
  • Active Duty Option
  • Two-year only (non-scholarship)

Scholarship Option

  • Pays Tuition and Fees
  • Annual book allowance of $900
  • Monthly stipend ($300-500)
  • Montgomery G.I. Bill/ACF Benefits (G.I. Bill 20/30 rule*)

*20/30 rule refers to time served. Soldiers must have completed 2/3 of their original enlistment contract before they are eligible for the MGI Bill benefits.

Non-Scholarship Option

  • Monthly stipend ($300-500)
  • Montgomery G.I. Bill/ACF Benefits (G.I. Bill 20/30 rule)
  • Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP-see NCARG benefits)
  • School/State financial aid

Active Duty Option

  • Stay on Active Duty with full medical coverage and BAH (Basic Allowance Housing)
  • Assigned to a University
  • Accrue time toward retirement
  • Montgomery G.I. Bill/ACF Benefits (MGIB 20/30 rule)
