Green to Gold

The Army Green to Gold (G2G) program is designed to offer Enlisted Soldiers in the Army the opportunity to earn a commission as an Army Officer. This program offers enlisted Soldiers two unique ways to earn a baccalaureate degree:

G2G Scholarship Option — For Soldiers who are considering leaving active duty to attend college.

G2G Active Duty Option — For Soldiers who want to remain on active duty and attend college.

The best place to learn all of the details on the G2G program is to visit This official Army site describes the different kinds of G2G programs, the eligibility requirements, the benefits, and the application procedures.

There are three things that you will need from either ECU or our ROTC department to complete your G2G packet:

  • An acceptance letter from ECU for your admission for the semester and year for which you are applying. You can apply for admission online by going to and clicking on the future student link at the top.
  • An acceptance letter from the ROTC department stating that you are accepted into our commissioning program. In order for us to complete that letter you must mail (or email) a document signed by your commander recommending you for a commissioning program. We also need your last APFT card.
  • You will need to complete an academic degree plan (Cadet Command Form 104-R). You cannot complete that until you are accepted into ECU. Contact us for assistance with the 104-R at that time.

We currently have two G2G scholarship Cadets in our program and several other prior service Cadets. This is a great time to pursue G2G as selection rates for them have been very high.
