Welcome to the Active Military Personnel University Program (AMP-UP)

East Carolina University is committed to serving the military men and women who serve our country.  At ECU, we realize the schedules of the military population are varied and traditional educational opportunities may not always be an option. We want to provide you with an education format that fits your needs. To address the educational needs of the military population, we are offering a flexible 7.5 week online format for undergraduate courses meeting general education requirements.

The condensed 7.5 week general education courses will allow active duty service members more flexibility to begin their degree program of choice at ECU. Active duty military personnel can complete their general education requirements in an accelerated format preparing them to move toward completion of an ECU degree program (in a 15-week format). They will be able to complete courses throughout the year whether they are at home, away at training, or even when deployed as long as they have access to a reliable internet service.

The AMP-UP courses will be selected specifically to meet the needs of the active duty military population degree program choices. ECU is a state leader and a national trailblazer in distance education.

AMP-UP is designed for active duty personnel within the Air Force, Army, Marine Corps, Navy, NC National Guard, and US Coast Guard.  Eligible students may utilize their approved branch specific tuition assistance programs. For questions about how to get started at your base location, please contact your Base Education Center or AMP-UP (ampup@ecu.edu).

ECU's faculty and staff look forward to strengthening our relationship of our region and state through AMP-UP!
