Five-thousand-level (5000-5999) courses are graduate courses. Undergraduate students may be admitted with the written permission of the chairperson of the department or the dean of the school in which the course is offered. For 6000-level and above courses, see graduate catalog.  Courses normally meet 1 hour per week for each semester hour credit. The numbers in parentheses following the title for each course listed under the various programs, departments, and schools of the university indicate the semester hours credit.
