Fall 2008 Freshman Admitted Student Checklist

Now that you have been admitted, there are several important steps for enrollment that must be completed in the checklist below:

Enrollment Verification You must submit the enrollment verification form from your admit packet to reserve your seat.  A spot in ECU’s freshman class is yours as long as you submit the form by May 1 to the ECU Cashier's Office.

Health Form The student health form that was forwarded to you after your admit packet must be returned complete with immunization records. You must be cleared as “health compliant” prior to registration during summer orientation.

Campus Living Contract if you choose to live and dine on campus, please submit your housing and dining contract.  We guarantee on-campus housing and mutual roommate requests submitted by May 1.

Financial Aid Make sure to complete a FAFSA (Free Application for Financial Student Aid) form as soon as possible, and include ECU as an official recipient of your SAR (Student Aid Report).  This will determine your eligibility for grants, loans, work-study, and other financial aid programs.  EC Scholars applications are automatically mailed to admitted students who meet initial academic performance criteria. Scholarship applications are due by January 1.

Campus Visit If you have not already done so, validating your college choice with a visit to campus is highly recommended.  You can arrange a campus information session and tour through the admissions office, or plan to attend our Spring Open House.  We will also forward information on our ECU Today regional open house series that may be coming to your hometown. Contact the Admissions Office at 252-328-6640 or admis@ecu.edu for more information.

Orientation Your orientation registration mailing will be sent in April. You will choose one of multiple two-day sessions available during the summer.  During orientation, you will take placement exams, meet with your advisor, register for fall classes, obtain your student ID, and complete various other important enrollment tasks.

Remember, financial aid and availability of accommodations on campus are granted on a first-come, first-served basis!

Official High School Transcripts Enrolling students must submit their final official transcripts (including graduation date) before the start of the 2008-2009 Academic Year. Send transcripts to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, 106 Whichard Building, East Carolina University, Greenville, NC 27858-4353.
