A transfer is a student who will have attended a post-secondary institution and has a minimum of 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of transferable work at the time he or she proposes to enroll at East Carolina University. Transfer students must have a minimum 2.0 grade point average both overall and on the transferable courses, as computed by East Carolina. Applicants who will have completed fewer than 30 semester (45 quarter) hours prior to enrolling at ECU will also be required to meet the freshman requirements (high school grades, SAT/ACT scores, and minimum course requirements from high school). Transferring students are encouraged to apply after completing a minimum of one semester or quarter of full-time college-level course work.
