Fall 2015 Freshman Profile

For the fall 2015 semester, we received nearly 20,000 applications for an incoming class of 4,400. The mean academic credentials of admitted students this year were:

  • Unweighted GPA: 3.1/4.0
  • Weighted GPA: 3.5/4.0
  • ACT: TBA
  • SAT (CR+M): TBA

Admissions Portal

Students interested in applying to ECU should create their Admissions Portal. The Portal is a web-based tool that prospective students will use for a variety of functions. These include:

  • Receiving information via email
  • Registering for campus tours and other events
  • Applying for admission
  • Monitoring receipt of transcripts and test scores
  • Checking their application status

A Complete Application For Freshman Admission Includes

  • A completed online application
  • Nonrefundable $70 application fee
  • Official high school transcript including senior year courses in progress and current grade point average on a 4.0 scale
  • Transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended including community college dual enrollment.
  • Official SAT and/or ACT scores  (Please make sure that all test scores are sent directly from ACT or College Board)

Deadline: Freshman Applications For Admission

Fall Semester: To be considered for Fall 2016, your application must be submitted by March 1, 2016. All official final transcripts and official test scores must be received by March 15, 2016 to be considered for Fall 2016.

Fee Waivers

ECU accepts fee waivers from the College Board, the ACT, and the National Association of College Admissions Counselors. If your student received a College Board Fee Waiver, they will enter the code found on the form into our application. They do not need to mail anything to our office. Students using fee waivers from the ACT or NACAC will need to mail those forms to us before we can review their application.

East Carolina University has an online tool that can help you and your students discover more about the 200+ degrees offered at the university. The Degree Explorer provides quick access to the following information: learn what makes this particular degree special at ECU, what courses students in this program will study, what career opportunities could this degree unlock for graduates who have earned the degree, and much more.
