East Carolina University has partnered with RaiseMe to offer micro-scholarships to eligible students for academic and extracurricular achievements throughout high school. Students can add achievements to their portfolio on RaiseMe and earn micro-scholarships for things like good grades, extracurriculars and sports, and perfect attendance.

You must have a minimum GPA of 2.75, reside in North Carolina, and either qualify for free or reduced lunch or attend an eligible high school to earn micro-scholarships to ECU on RaiseMe. RaiseMe FAQs

RaiseMe is a free platform that helps students in 9th-12th grades earn micro-scholarships for academic and extracurricular achievements. When students add achievements (such as good grades, extracurricular activities and sports, and perfect attendance) to their RaiseMe portfolio, they could be eligible to earn micro-scholarships to ECU or RaiseMe's other partner colleges.
Eligible students can earn micro-scholarships to ECU for achievements such as:
  • Earning good grades, maintaining a high GPA, or taking AP and Honors courses
  • Perfect attendance
  • Participating in extracurricular activities or sports
  • Volunteering in the community
  • Scoring well on the SAT or ACT
  • Visiting ECU's campus, attending a college fair, or completing the FAFSA
  • Holding a part-time job or internship
To receive these scholarships, students must apply, be admitted, and enroll at East Carolina University. For specific details and a full list of the activities that ECU awards micro-scholarships for, visit the East Carolina University profile page on RaiseMe.
As part of our commitment to college access, ECU's RaiseMe program is only open to students residing in North Carolina who qualify for free or reduced lunch, or attend a North Carolina high school where 70+% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Students must maintain a GPA of 2.75 to be eligible. Students must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC) profile by December 1 and demonstrate eligibility for need-based aid.

This list is current for students applying for Fall 2019 freshman admission. This list is subject to change for future years.

You must follow ECU on RaiseMe, have a complete portfolio, and apply to ECU by January 1. Only achievements added to your portfolio by our earning deadline - December 1 of your senior year - will be included in your scholarship. You must complete the FAFSA and CFNC profile by December 1 and demonstrate eligibility for need-based aid. Earnings represent the minimum guaranteed aid you will receive if you are admitted to and enroll at East Carolina University. Once admitted, your micro-scholarship earnings will automatically be included in your financial aid package.
Your micro-scholarships represent a minimum amount of scholarship and grant aid you will receive from ECU if you apply, are admitted, and enroll. You may be eligible for more aid based on your formal application for admission and financial aid forms. If you receive a higher amount of scholarship and grant aid in your comprehensive award letter from ECU, note that this includes the amount you earned on RaiseMe and is not in addition to your earnings on RaiseMe.
Begin by creating an account on RaiseMe. Ensure that you are following East Carolina University, and then add achievements such as grades, extracurricular activities and leadership positions to your portfolio.
