Transfer Admission Requirements:
All transfer students must:
- Submit an online application
- Pay the $60 nonrefundable application fee
- Submit ALL official transcripts (in a signed/sealed envelope) from every college/university attended
Note: All transferable courses must be college level from a regionally accredited institution and only courses with a grade of C or higher are considered transferable.
Students under the age of 24 must also submit an official final high school transcript.
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will consider appropriate placement scores for college credits. Please click here for further information on placement credits.
Transferring with an Associate Degree:
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Note: Students with an Associate Degree in Applied Science must have completed the minimum course requirements from high school OR complete 6 credit hours in each of the following: English, Math, Science, Social Science and Foreign Language at the community college level
Transferring with at least 30 transferable credit hours:
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Completion of of the minimum course requirements in high school or have completed 6 credit hours in each of the following: English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and Foreign Language at the community college level
- Must have completed 6 transferable hours in English equivalent to ENGL 1100 & ENGL 1200 and 3 transferable credit hours of Math equivalent to MATH 1065 (College Algebra)
- Final High School Transcript unless 24 years of age or older
Transferring with less than 30 transferable credit hours:
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Final High School Transcript
- Must have completed 6 transferable credit hours in English equivalent to ENGL 1100 & 1200 and 3 transferable credit hours of Math equivalent to MATH 1065 (College Algebra)
- Meet the minimum and competitive freshman criteria. This includes SAT/ACT scores, high school grade point average, class rank and the minimum course requirements
Transferring with a GED or to meet Minimum Course Requirement deficiency from High School:
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Final high school transcript or GED
- Complete an Associate of Arts, Associate of Science or Associate of Fine Arts Degree
OR
- Complete 6 credit hours in each of the following: English, Mathematics, Science, Social Science and Foreign Language at the community college level
Transferring as a second degree student:
- Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Final College Transcript verifying the completion of a four year undergraduate degree
Transferring with credits from abroad:
- Official and sealed documents from abroad
- All documents must be in English
- In some cases we ask our students to have their foreign transcript evaluated through an outside company. ECU Admissions only accepts evaluations from an accredited company. Please click here for examples.
