Important Notes: On Friday, December 16th, Graduates should report to their School/College lineup area located through the Hall of Fame Entrance connected to Minges by 9:15a.m. Doors to Minges Coliseum will open at 9:00am for family members and guests.
After East Carolina University’s Commencement Ceremony at Minges Coliseum some schools/colleges will hold recognition ceremonies for their graduates on Friday, December 16th or Saturday, December 17th. Check out the School/College Recognition page for updated information for the time and location of those ceremonies.
Rear Adm. Alvarado is a registered nurse and graduate of the Alexandria Hospital School of Nursing, Alexandria, Va., Columbia University School of Nursing, New York, N.Y., and holds a Master of Health Care Administration from the University of North Carolina, School of Public Health. She has worked in the clinical areas of orthopedics, neurosurgery and intensive care. Alvarado became certified in critical care nursing in 1983, and held civilian professional nurse positions at United Hospital, Portchester, N.Y., Alexandria Hospital and Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. She was the first nurse to command Naval Reserve (NR) Expeditionary Medical Facility (EMF) Dallas One, a commissioned unit whose mission is expeditionary medicine. She led the transformation of the unit and stood up the first Reserve EMF in 2011..
